According to the legend of the religion, Queen Pathumwadi, the consort of King Athitayarat, ordered the construction of this sacred site 4 years after King Athitayarat built Phra That Haripunjaya. The people of Lamphun affectionately refer to it as Phra That Liam, That Liam. It is a place steeped in history and mystique.
Phra That Liam was once the venue for a ceremonial dance held in the 4th month of the northern after harvesting every year. Sadly, this ancient tradition has been lost over time. However, the allure and significance of Phra That Liam remain intact, attracting visitors from all over the world.
